Saban's Titanic Tirade

November 21, 2007 14:38 by Pigskin_Stokes

If you have to compare Saban to a historic event it would be the sinking of the Titanic. He is arrogant, over confident, and doesn't seem to have enough life boats to get himself out of the giant wake his low-class actions are making. First off, he reinstates a DJ Hall after suspending him for one game because he is losing to the lowly Warhawks of Monore, LA.( GO ULM! ) Then he compares a football game to events that have shaken the very core of our country. I am not big into blowing things out of proportion because I know people say things they don't mean. However, this is another example of Saban Looking Out for Saban. We all remember his big mouth at Miami and don't forget the Dynasty he was going to start at LSU with Louisiana's own. This guy is a jerk, and a classless peice of work. I know it may sound like bashing...actually it is bashing. The bashing of a guy who looks out for "numero uno" at a unniversity who is no stranger to corrupt classless situations. It wasn't to long ago that Alabama was on probation and now they are adding another shady character to the organization. This organization kicked Shula out and he was a perfectly good coach. As a disclaimer, I want it to be clear that I think Alabama has a great football team and those students on the field have nothing to hang their head about. It is their  ridiculous coach that I have a problem with. So here's to Saban, may his ship sink in a puddle of his own filth and hopefully Alabama Football won't go down with him.

Wow. That's some tough words. True but tough. Sinking in one's own puddle of filth is never pleasant and definitely not very tasty.
My hope is that Saban seeks some professional help to deal with his troubled childhood where I am sure everyone he ever loved abandoned him. He needs a hug and then a swift punch in the groin.

I agree with these words, however I am glad you followed your opinion about his latest 9/11 comments with a half-hearted "forgiveness" statement. I am glad you did because the media has created this world where coaches and players are afraid of being candid because every little thing they say or any little slip up will cause an uproar. It's one thing to jump on tim hardaway who said "I hate gay people" and saban comparing football with 9/11. The difference to me is that tim hardaway said that with anger and Saban just misspoke. The only problem is... Nick Saban has misspoken and fumbled on his words too much.

Disclaimer: I don't like Nick Saban one bit.

If you actually read or listen to his exact words, he doesn't actually compare the loss to 9/11 or the Titantic. What he did say was that there are times in peoples lives where there are catastrophic events and it is how you respond to those events that defines an individual, or in this case a team, or in 9/11's case, a country's character and how they would rise up and respond to the adversity. While I even agree that the loss was not catastrophic, and he shouldn't have used that word nor should he even mentioned the event of 9/11, to vilify him for something he actually didn't say is wrong.
